Seung Keun Kim Wins 2025 MUSE Design Award for Smart Delivery System HomeBox

Award-winning industrial designer Seung Keun Kim has been honored with a Silver MUSE Design Award in 2025 for his project ‘HomeBox’—a smart, secure delivery storage system designed for the modern home. The product merges elegant aesthetics with practical technology, offering app connectivity, real-time package tracking, and weather-resistant stainless steel construction

Industrial designer Seung Keun Kim has been honored with a Silver award at the 2025 MUSE Design Awards for HomeBox, a smart and secure delivery solution designed to meet the rising demand for safe, unattended package storage in the modern home.

HomeBox is a fully integrated system that blends durable physical design with intuitive digital functionality. Engineered for both indoor and outdoor use, the product features a weather-resistant stainless steel body, real-time delivery detection via a built-in weight sensor, and a companion mobile app that enables users to track packages using carrier-provided tracking IDs. When a delivery is made, the system automatically notifies the user, offering peace of mind even when they are away from home.

Kim led the HomeBox project independently from start to finish, overseeing research, industrial design, engineering, and visual development. He also led the design of the HomeBox app, integrating a clean, intuitive interface for real-time delivery tracking. A full-scale prototype was built to test real-world usability, installation, and durability, underscoring Kim’s commitment to a fully realized design solution.

“I created HomeBox to solve a very real problem, missed or stolen packages, and to elevate the experience through thoughtful, user-centered design,” said Kim. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see this work recognized on a global stage.”

The MUSE Design Awards, hosted by the International Awards Associate (IAA), celebrate outstanding achievement in design across multiple disciplines. HomeBox was recognized in the Conceptual Design – Home Appliances category for its innovation, functionality, and forward-thinking execution.

Kim is no stranger to international recognition. In 2023, he received three iF Design Awards in the Beauty and Care category for his work in skincare technology. With a growing portfolio of consumer tech and home innovation, he continues to shape design solutions that combine aesthetic sensitivity with practical impact.
